Personal Details

Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Concepción, Chile, in 1985. I pursued my Master’s studies in Physics in 1986-1987 and developed my Doctoral studies in 1988-1991 at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, with Dr. Miguel Orszag. I have worked professionally as a university academic at the University of Tarapacá, Chile, in 1992-1993. Subsequently at the University of Santiago de Chile, from 1994 to present. I did a postdoctoral stay at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro with Professor Nicim Zagury. I have served in various areas of academic life as Head of the Physical Engineering career, Director of Master’s and Doctoral programs, Deputy Director of Research and Teaching, Institutional Graduate Directorate, Academic Vice-Rector. I have been secretary and president of the Chilean Society of Physics and Chilean representative at the Latin American Center for Physics.
